Waxing

Done carefully, in a room where the skin is looked at first.

Waxing removes hair from the follicle, so regrowth takes longer to appear than it does after shaving. Face and body services are offered here, and the difference between a good experience and a poor one is largely technique, temperature and preparation — none of which survives being rushed.

Skin is looked at before treatment. Certain skincare ingredients, recent sun exposure and some medications make waxing inadvisable at that moment, and it is better to reschedule than to treat skin that is not ready.

Preparing and aftercare

Hair needs a little length to be removed cleanly — the appointment is more comfortable and more effective with a few weeks of growth. Exfoliating aggressively immediately beforehand is best avoided.

Afterwards, skin is warm and sensitive for a period. Heat, friction and sun are worth avoiding for the rest of the day, and specific aftercare is given to you at the appointment.

Offered for

  • Unwanted facial and body hair

Questions about Waxing

How long does hair need to be?

A few weeks of growth is generally enough for hair to be removed cleanly. Too short and it cannot be gripped properly, which makes the appointment less effective rather than more comfortable.

Can I wax if I use retinoids or acids?

Often not on the treated area, and not without pausing them first — those ingredients thin the surface and make skin lifting more likely. Tell us what you use before your appointment so it can be planned rather than cancelled.

How often should I come back?

Most patients settle into a rhythm of several weeks, which tends to lengthen as regrowth becomes more even. It varies by area and by individual.
