Using this website

We build this site to be usable by everyone, and we would rather hear about a problem than have you work around it.

The standard we build to

This website is built to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. That is a specific, testable standard rather than a statement of intent.

What that means in practice

  • Every colour pairing used for text is contrast-checked against the WCAG thresholds before it is used, and the results are recorded in the site’s configuration.
  • The whole site works with a keyboard. Focus is always visible, and a skip link at the top of every page jumps straight to the main content.
  • Every page’s content is present without JavaScript, and headings run in order so a screen reader can be used to navigate rather than to read straight through.
  • Every image carries alternative text, or is explicitly marked decorative.
  • Animation is limited to movement, never to fading content in — and it is disabled entirely for visitors whose system asks for reduced motion.

Where we know we fall short

The map on our contact page is provided by Google and we do not control its accessibility. The full address is written out beside it in text for that reason, and calling the practice will always get you directions from a person.
