Dermaplaning

A precise, gentle exfoliation with no downtime.

Dermaplaning uses a sterile blade held at an angle against the skin to lift away dulled surface cells and the fine facial hair sometimes called vellus hair. It is a manual treatment with no chemicals involved, which makes it an option for patients whose skin does not tolerate acids well.

Skin generally feels immediately smoother, and products applied afterwards meet less resistance. Many patients have it before an event because makeup sits more evenly on the treated surface.

The question everyone asks

Removing vellus hair does not change how it grows back. Hair regrows with the same texture and at the same rate it had before — the belief that it returns thicker or darker is a persistent myth, and it is not what happens.

Suitability

Dermaplaning suits most skin types. Active acne, current breakouts and certain skin conditions can make it inappropriate at a given time, which is why skin is assessed before treatment rather than after booking.

Offered for

  • Dull skin and surface texture

Questions about Dermaplaning

Will the hair grow back thicker or darker?

No. Vellus hair regrows with the same texture and at the same rate as before. This is one of the most persistent myths in skincare, and it is simply not how hair growth works.

Is there any downtime?

None. Skin may look slightly pink briefly, and it will be more sensitive to sun afterwards, so daily protection matters.

Can it be combined with other treatments?

Frequently — it is often paired with a facial or scheduled alongside a peel, since the exfoliated surface lets what follows work more evenly. The sequencing is planned for you.
